We brought the GMC Acadia into the dealership for the check engine light. This SUV was previously repaired here in January for the check engine light (a timing chain issue) $5K+, which was fixed, we hope. This time, in July, they said they could not tell us why the light is on. The warranty has now expired and I am afraid to drive the vehicle in fear of the light coming on again. Now that the warranty has expired, we don't have that kind of money to spend.
We had an appointment and they took our vehicle exactly on time. Mike Bernstein told us in detail what services were to be performed. Mike really represents Hendrick in a very professional manner and we will ask for him as long as he is there.
I bought this truck from this dealership on a Sunday and all the detail people were gone, so I was asked to bring it back during week and they would remove sticker residue and detail. I waited until i took the truck in for an oil change and requested that detail...which I specifically asked the service guy to handle the sales sticker residue on the windows. Sticker residue still on the windows, and it looked like the vehicle had been through a cheap external only car wash. I had to wash the truck afterwards to get all of the tire polish off the vehicle. All this and I had to wait 3 days for an appointment. I have owned Hondas in the past and have come to expect a better service experience. This is bad for my GM service experience.
Just today, one day after my oil change and tire rotation, I noticed on the way home from work my truck driving differently. I promptly check my tires even though my TPS monitor said everything matched. The factory specs say the proper inflation levels are to have 60 PSI in the front and 70 in the rear. Upon manually checking the pressure, the actual readings of the tires were 70 in the front and 60 in the rear. So it appears the tech just swapped the tires but never actually adjusted the pressure or reset the placement. I also have no way of adjusting the placement of the tires to read differently on the TPS monitoring system. I did however properly inflate/deflate my tires to match the door jam specs; what the tech failed to do.
Very dissatisfied with this experience at the dealership with getting my vehicle serviced.
